2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Answer from Judy Kercheval:
Hiring an Economic Development Director will enable the City to attract types of Businesses to enhance our possibilities. This will allow us to expland out services, including safety services, while adding to our financial health. A win-win situation for everyone.
Answer from Mary E Roehm:
1) Managing growth- Harrison has a good Land Use Plan. We should adhere to it when considering new residential developments. The plan that is best for our community is not necessarily the most profitable for the developer.
2) Economic development- We should work to attract developments that will create good-paying jobs and stimulate economic growth.
3) Clean, safe neighborhoods- A solid police presence in our neighborhoods must be continued. Encourage neighbors to work together to create attractive, safe and heathy places to live. Hold parents accountable for the actions of their children. Develop additional park and recreation areas.
3. State three actions that you recommend to promote regional cooperation, and explain how you would implement each action? (150 word limit)
|
Answer from Judy Kercheval:
Dialogue - encourage more conversation between adjoining entities.
Joint Ventures - ex. bid out projects together to receive savings for all involved.
Economic Development - if your entity's not a fit for something, encourage business to look at neighboring entity for location which will benefit entire area.
