1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)

Answer from Robert J. "Bob" Ashbrock:

My Depth of knowledge of the ciy's needs & strengths coupled with a passionate desire to have Reading reach its potential as a shining example of a diverse, vibrant,safe and " walkable" inner ring suburban community. I have demonstrated leadership skills in my parish , in various Reading Committes, with OKI and in the business community. I have earned the respect of county officials , ODOT and Reading voters during my previous two terms in office

  • 16 years councilman.
  • Manager of supermarkets & own a business for 22 years
  • Been involved with the public and knows how to listen.


2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

Answer from Robert J. "Bob" Ashbrock:

I plan to propose that traffic calming tech. be considered on residential road improvement projects to slow traffic, thus minimizing noise and improving safety. Advocate for a greater police presence.I will work to minimize the number of non-conforming uses within Reading to remove whenever possible harsh commercial activities from otherwise quiet areas. Continue to build multijuisdictional and bipartisan support for transportation improvements in the vicinity of Shepherd Lane /Barret Dr/ columbia Ave to promote econ. dev. in that area and linking thru to Reading Rd. Study poss. of improving peakhour traffic movements on Ridge/columbia between RR HWY and MND HS.
