A Montgomery County native and graduate of Upper Merion High School, Bill Thomas has lived in Upper Providence for 15 years. He attended Penn State, Behrend Campus, and has spent the major portion of his professional life as a design engineer and project manager working on oil and nuclear energy projects. Among other things, he designed the world's largest crude tower, for use in Abadan, Iran and managed projects at the Sequoyah Nuclear Station, outside Chattanooga, TN. In 1992 he, his wife Marty and their sons Adam and Ian, returned to Upper Providence, where Bill focused on his growing career as a computer analyst. Both boys attended local public schools and graduated from Penncrest High School. In 2003 Bill left full time work to devote his time to Marty, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and he cared for her until her passing last November. He is presently a consultant. |
