Political Philosophy for Steve D. Ettien
Candidate for |

|
I have a ten year economic business plan that I have worked on for the past three years that will be posted on my website in May. We need to have a high speed four lane highway connecting Johnstown Pennsylvania to Bedford Pennsylvania. This has been talked about for 50 years and now is the time to stop talking and start digging. Without a highway, the Johnstown area will continue to decline and the youth of the area will continue to leave. Which means this area will continue to gray until it is too late to recover. My prime focus when elected will be to have the Johnstown Highway constructed. I will also work with to reduce corporate taxes and work to enable the small business entrepreneur in order to grow companies in the area. I believe in less government, self reliance, and that everyone capable of working should work. I think social programs are good if they are used as intended. Most social programs are for providing a hand up and not a hand out. Unfortunately, some people, not all, abuse these programs which puts a strain on the overall social system. The results of the actions of a few people negatively impact the people who truly need help and are unable to get the assistance needed. I am fiercely independent. I bend a knee in Church and I do not bend a knee to anyone or anything on this earth. I believe in treating everyone with the respect they deserve until they prove they do not deserve that respect. I believe in the Golden Rule and try to live by it every day; I do my best to follow ten basic rules that were inscribed in stone a long time ago. I believe we should treat everyone as equals and that if a person is qualified for the job they should be hired no matter what their race, sex, color or creed happens to be. |
