Investment in renewable energy will provide dividends in the form of affordable energy, a cleaner environment, and jobs.Investment in renewable energy will provide dividends in the form of affordable energy, a cleaner environment, and high paying jobs. This is a high growth area that will spur economic growth and provide the jobs of the future. Biofuel crops can have the effect of increasing food prices, therefore we should pursue the alternatives that will not produce this inflationary effect. We should invest in wind and solar power. Our location on Lake Erie seems an ideal fit for wind power, and the model in use in Germany seems a good one for solar power. People there are able to get low interest loans to install solar panels, sell their excess energy back to the power company to help pay the loan, and then have free energy after that for the remaining life of the solar panels. |
