I am tired of politicians occupying office who are more interested in looking the part than in doing the work. While I think that people should be able to go about their daily routine secure in the knowledge that their government is doing its level best to represent their interests, we continually are shown that people need to get involved for government to work.

People who would make good representatives generally lack the qualities needed to get elected, and those who can get elected generally lack the qualities needed to be good representatives. I just want to talk to people, find out what most of them want, and represent those interests.

I think that all citizens should be treated equally under the law, and that the law should be as fair and simple as possible. Government is by nature neither good nor bad, but it becomes bad when it no longer represents the voters. It is meant to do collectively those things we cannot do alone. Some of those things are to provide equal opportunity, a safe and clean environment, education, and healthcare.
