1. Since the biweekly schedule for council and council committee meetings often significantly limits the time available for public input, what changes would you make to give the public real opportunities to give input and to feel that their input is valued?

Answer from Patrick Kevin "Pat" McCullough:

I will increase the opportunity for public input by proposing the use of e-mail and telephone for official comment, increasing the number of scheduled meetings, shortening break periods, and holding weekend meetings.

Answer from Jane E. Brunner:

Before City Council meetings and Committee Meetings were on the same day. Now they are on separate days allowing for more community participation and more time to delve deeply into each issue.

2. What is your assessment of the City's present records management program and how would you change it?

Answer from Patrick Kevin "Pat" McCullough:

The City's record management is inept, causing inefficiency, frustration, waste, and unnecessary delays. It should be improved by utilizing improved technology and requiring the various departments to use compatible tools and practices.

Answer from Jane E. Brunner:

I do not think that the City does a good job of records management and I would use an outside consultant.

3. How might the City work more effectively with the School District?

Answer from Patrick Kevin "Pat" McCullough:

The City should be more engaged and communicative with the School District, maintaining regular involvement of elected and appointed officials in the District's planning, budget, and operations.

Answer from Jane E. Brunner:

I work with each school and each Principal in District 1 to provide the support that they need.
