Top three priorities: 1) Reach out to and engage Democrats in the community, to increase participation in efforts to advance Democratic Party goals and priorities. The Democratic Party County Central Committee should develop a variety of year-round programs that offer all Democrats opportunities to make a difference within our communities, provide a range of activities aimed at increasing voter participation and bring local Democrats together in informational/educational and social settings, and should invite local Democrats to participate in these programs. 2) Strengthen Democratic Party ties with like-minded organizations within the community. The Democratic Party shares many interests, values and goals with a multitude of community organizations, and should establish supportive relationships that boost the effectiveness of all groups. 3) Identify Democrats within the community exhibiting potential as future office-holders, get them involved with local Democratic office-holders, the local Democratic Party, local Democratic Clubs and other local like-minded organizations, and, when the time is right, work to get them elected to office. The Democratic Party County Central Committee needs to ensure that a qualified Democratic candidate is running for elected office at every level of government, from our non-partisan local city councils, school boards and community college boards to our highest national offices. |
