Candidate's StatementBy Bob BusterCandidate for County Supervisor; Riverside County; Supervisorial District 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Issues and AccomplishmentsI have worked to protect your tax dollars and improve our community. Public safety: I supported funding for 450 new sheriff's deputies, 8 new gang suppression teams, increased monitoring of sex offenders, upgraded communications, paramedic service, expanded jail capacity, and a program to identify and transfer incarcerated illegal aliens -- and their costs -- to federal officials. Traffic congestion: I secured approval for traffic impact fees that require developers to pay for major road improvements so taxpayers don't get stuck with the impacts of growth, and successfully removed restrictions imposed by the private toll road that prevented badly-needed improvements on the 91 freeway. Quality of life: I protected the last major open space along the Santa Ana River and helped extend the mountains-to-ocean river trail, was the only vote against bringing noisy DHL jets to March Field, and helped bring over 6,000 new jobs in business parks along the I-215 freeway and in Temescal Valley. Protecting tax dollars: I've maintained a balanced county budget and healthy reserve fund without raising taxes. Riverside County's high credit ratings reduce costs for continued expansion of roads, public services, parks, and libraries. I ask for your vote to keep our county government on track, serving you.
