Member, Democratic Party County Central Committee; County of Sacramento; State Assembly District 10

As the Vice-Chair of the Sacramento County Democratic Party, I am proud of the work that we have done over the last two years. I am proud of our efforts in community outreach, party leadership, and community service. Our team has been especially successful in voter registration efforts. Sacramento County is the highest ranked county in California for a volunteer-run, Democratic Party registration effort. It is important to me to continue in my role as a party leader so that we continue to make voter registration a top priority. For Democrats to win elections, we need Democrats registered to vote and Democrats at the polls.

I am particularly interested in empowering more women and people of color through the political process. Every year, I hold appointments trainings with various groups on how to run for boards and commissions. We live in a fabulously diverse region. It is only appropriate that those in leadership roles represent all of us. We need more diversity in these positions.

Finally, I believe that it is important for all of us to be engaged in politics. Politics affects us all. Whether we have our children join us in a precinct walk or letter stuffing party, or take a lasagna to a hungry phone bank, it is important that we all do our part. At some level, we can all contribute in some way. Be engaged, be involved, be a voice for your future - AND VOTE! :)
