Council Member; City of Chula Vista; Seat 4

POLICE AND FIRE. A deteriorationg economy is putting strains on the city budget. As we tighten our belts, public saftey must remian the city's number 1 priority. I willfight to keep all fire stations open and to stop cuts in police and fire services.

LOCAL JOBS. We need to attract business so our residents don't have to commute out of town for work. When we bring in new businesses to Chula Vista, like the Bay Front, I will insist on "local hire" provisions to insure our residents get these new jobs.

GROW SMART.
Parts of Chula Vista have grown so fast that the roads are clogged and the city is staining to provide essential services. "Smart Growth" starts with community input and approval;and requires developers to pay for the new streets, parks, schools, and services their developments will require.

A GREEN CITY.
As fossil fuel cost escalate and the dangers of global warming grow, we must reduce our dependence on hydrocarbons like oil. I will aggressively increase solar and renewable energy use, demand the city use hybrid cars, and improve recycling. In the long run, this will save city money,help porvide "green jobs", and help save the planet
