Sandra Davis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 12, 1954. She earned Baccalaureate and Master's Degrees in Nursing with an emphasis in public policy at California State University at Sacramento, and a PhD from the University of California, San Francisco. Sandra spent much of her career at San Joaquin General Hospital, retiring in 2007 as Senior Deputy Director. She has always been active in outreach to the community as part of her many roles at San Joaquin General Hospital and as a community healthcare advocate. Throughout her career she has worked with mothers, babies and families in both work related and volunteer capacities. Among her many activities she has enjoyed work with Healthy Moms/Healthy Babies Coalition, Black Infant Health, Mary Graham Children Shelter Clinic, Migrant Health and Health Access, to name a few. Sandra received the Nurse of Distinction award from Phi Eta Chi in recognition of her outstanding work in the community. She is a lifelong member of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, where she says teaching Sunday school is her favorite role. She has three adult children - two sons and a daughter, and one grandson. |
