Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Rescue Union School District

Here are my reasons to run for the elected office of Governing Board Member of Rescue Union School District:

• Safe and secure schools for our students
• Excellence in education
• Traditional values fostering self respect
• Parental involvement
• Critical thinking for civic responsibility
• Physical Education

• Shared common values (1) help define the goals of living (2) give meaning to social purpose and (3) promote human self-realization.

• The ethical values of "understanding" and "acceptance of differences" produces respect for human rights, desire for peaceful solutions, and tolerance of differing culture, race and religion.

• Insight into the significance of human relations safeguards the family, insures social culture, and augments individual happiness.

• Almost everthing of lasting value in civilization has its roots in the family: the wisdom of fairness and the love of service are basic family values that can be applied in our communities to make them safer and assure the pursuit of happiness for future generations.

• The unity of human values is our assurance of a peaceful world.

(1) enhance understanding and cooperation among people and nations; (2) promote ethical values; (3) advance the character developlment and life planning of young people.

Question: "Do we look upon education only as a means to advance business and science or do we also accept our child's creativity for advanced thinking in ethical philosophy so that future generations will be assured of peace and the pursuit of happiness! We are now in a millennium that requires the promotion of communication and intelligent cooperation through education.

I hope that you will find a reflection of your philosophy in this statement. We know as parents that "Rome was not built in a day," and as practical individuals, each day must be spent doing what we do in our everyday lives. We can make incremental changes for the betterment of Rescue Union School District. The school district has made wonderful gains in recent years and my goal is to continue the hard work that produces excellence in education. Your vote for Ron Collins will make it possible for yet another board member to bring out the best in our students with their safety and happiness in mind.
