I have dealt with water issues in the San Joaquin Valley and the adjacent Sierra Nevada since 1973.I have dealt with water issues in the San Joaquin Valley and the adjacent Sierra Nevada since 1973. My first hydrologic employment was with the Water Management Lab of the US Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Research Service. I have worked with agricultural and municipal water problems both as a researcher (ground water recharge ground water flow, water quality/chemistry, citrus water demand) and as a consultant (water supplies, water quality, and recharge). I currently volunteer by sitting on the steering committee of the Upper Kings Basin Water Forum, a consortum consisting of three counties, six irrigation and conservation districts, nine cities, and 13 other interested parties ranging from water associations to environmental organizations. I know agricultural water needs and demands first hand from our farming business. My technical and practical knowledge of water and its use will allow me to make decisions for the long-term benefit of both the agricultural and municipal communities within Kings River Conservation District. I would appreciate your vote on 11/4. |
