Political Philosophy for Mark Hood
Candidate for |
I have dedicated my career to the pursuit of justice: firm, fair and impartial. I believe so strongly in justice because it protects all that is so important to us: It resolves disputes peacefully, it protects us against crime, and it guarantees the freedom and equality that our way of life depends on. I have worked with some of the finest lawyers and judges in the state and I have learned from them. I have managed and office of prosecutors, and trained other prosecutors. I know that working effectively with other lawyers requires keen communication skills: it is essential that when the parties leave the chambers or courtroom, they feel that they have been heard regardless of the final ruling. I have the experience, qualifications, ethics and commitment to fairness that are critical for a member of the bench. I know that I can exercise the essential discretion, judgment, impartiality and mental discipline required of a judge. I take pride in my work and my ethical responsibilities to myself, the public and the law. I am ready to continue my public service in this new and more important role, a role my entire career has prepared me for. |
