- Dr. Gloria J. Alkire was born in Los Angeles California and graduated from Los Angeles Unified School District.
- She has been and educator her entire career.
- She has owned a home in the City of Newport Beach for 33 years.
- She received her educational training at the University of Long Beach gaining both a Bachelors and Masters Degree.
- She received her doctoral degree at the University of LaVerne, Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in 1996.
- She started her career as a fourth grade teacher in the Santa Ana Unified School District at Wilson School and became an Assistant Principal six years later at Glenn L. Martin School. She has been a teacher serving at the K-6 level, an assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent of instruction and superintendent.
- Most recently she became a course developer for instruction for William Howard Taft University. She has taught Leadership classes for Fullerton and the San Diego State University campus in El Centro California. She has also taught curriculum and instructional models to aspiring teachers in the University of Phoenix.
