My community involvement began in 1966. I have served in many leadership roles, both as volunteer and elected official. My election to the Fullerton City Council in 1982 began twelve years of energetic public service, including two terms as Mayor. I attended the University of Redlands 1955 - 1957. This education was interrupted with family obligations. In 1982 I returned to college as an adult with grown children. I graduated from Fullerton College with honors and a degree in Business Management. That same year I was named Woman of Distinction in Accounting and Community Service by Fullerton College. In 1987 I was appointed to the Fullerton College Foundation Board. In 1995 I was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the North Orange County Community College District, and was elected by the voters in 1996, 2000, and 2004. I have served twice as President of the Board. I served for 19 years as Director of Anaheim Youth Employment Service, a program of the YWCA of North Orange County. I worked with high school and college students in job placement. My main interest is helping students fulfill their highest potential. I welcome your support, ideas and interests. |
