I am committed to balancing our city's budget. I will continue to create policies that establish a sound economic foundation, budgetary process and fiscal review, while cutting waste throughout the city.
There is no doubt that there is pressure for immediate solutions to the problems that are facing our city. However, hasty, poorly planned actions could have worse consequences than a slightly longer, well thought out, clear, and concise plan. I believe in long range planning and that in being proactive, rather than reactive, we will avoid many future problems. By employing the best city staff, surrounding myself with the best advisors and using "common sense", I will continue to make informed decisions for the best interests of Hemet.
I am a prudent custodian of taxpayer dollars which I have proven by voting against pay raises for Council members and opposing the 40% pay raises for the heads of city departments. My voting record shows that I am conservative in expending taxpayer dollars. I have proven that I am an independent, common sense leader that always puts Hemet residents first. My priorities for Hemet reflect that and I will continue to fight for the issues Hemet
residents care about.
