Conservation of Capital

This information is provided by the candidate
Should the District conserve capital funds that provide interest income to be used for grant making.
From a cash deficit in 1997, the District under my tenure as Treasurer, has grown a Facilities Replacement Fund of over $50 Million. This is over and above the $20 Million in grants.

My position is that, if you spend too much of the principal, the interest income will not be there when it is needed. Maintaining the bulk of the principal will provide a large portion of the grant funds for use for many years to come.
