I will speak out for our kids. I believe in:

  • Communication between parents, teachers, classified and management. I believe that we need to strengthen our communication in our district with all parties from management, teachers, classified, parents and students. It is my desire to explore and develop innovative, productive, and inclusive partnerships between our students, parents, and the education community If everyone is educated about all that is going on we will have a stronger and more informed district. As a trustee it will be my position to represent our valued children, educators and to support our community. As you can see I am a parent who cares about our children and their future. I want to make a difference

  • New schools for our district. We currently have a bond measure on the November ballot; I believe that if this bond is passed there needs be accountability for every dollar spent from this bond. With that said, with those bond monies we need to first and foremost continue the process of building a third high school in our district as well as renovate our current high schools to meet the same standards as our new school. All our students need to have an equal opportunity to learn with the same advantages of this new school. We also need to look forward in our thinking about building new schools to accommodate our growing community.

  • Budget cuts must stay away from the classroom. In this time of budget cuts a board member has to be an advocate for all sides, for students, certificated, classified employees and the community to make an informed decision on district's monies. I will do my best to formulate objective and educated decisions regarding this sensitive issue always thinking of what is best for all involved. Locally we will need to look for ways to tighten our belt. I will not support getting rid of class-size reduction as a way to balance the budget. I would demand that any cuts come from the top first. I also believe that as a district we need to formulate more partnerships with community businesses to work together with us in keeping our students education at the highest level possible.
