BIO for Robert L. Felts, Candidate for EG City Council, District 5

I was born in Montgomery, Al, went to school there for 11 years, then graduated from Tokyo American HS. I spent one year at Auburn University, AL, before going to the U.S. Air Force Academy, where I graduated in 1962.

I flew KC-135s and FB-111A's as a Command pilot, Instructor pilot and Evaluator pilot in the Air Force for almost 20years. I also commanded two different divisions: 1) Chief, Tactical Weapons Computer Systems Division at HQ Tactical Air Command, Langley AFB, VA, and 2) Chief, Scheduling and Support Division for the 340th Air Refueling Group at Altus AFB, OK. I commanded up to 18 individuals in these jobs.

I retired from the AF in 1982.

I worked as a Project Manager for Vanguard Technologies from mid-1985 through 1986, in charge of a team of 10 software programmers. I left Vanguard in Jan 1987 due to an auto accident. After Vanguard, I was business manager of Clemen Environemental Consulting company and MC Felts Corporation for about 8 years, working out of our office building in Wilton, CA, and employing up to 10 people.

After 20 years in Wilton, we moved in Nov 2005 to Elk Grove, where we've been for the last 3 years. I spend my time doing a lot of reading, following the growth and politics of the city, walking, bike riding and maintaining a running political dialog with my fellow Republican Academy graduates on our network. In the last year, I earned 3 sailing certifications, bought a boat and experienced the ups and downs of owning a sailboat berthed in Sausalito.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the United Sates Air Force Academy and a Master's in Business Administration (specialty in Computer Applications) from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA.

I'm married to the former Margaret Clemen. We have 4 children and will celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary next month.
