Official Ballot Candidate StatementBy Candice SignaCandidate for Council Member; City of Buellton | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
CANDIDATE STATEMENT When my husband and I moved to Buellton from Goleta six years ago, we sought to raise our children in a close-knit town where neighbors care for one another as an extension of family: where people live, work, and play together, sharing their lives. Buellton has lived up to this hope for our family. I am running for City Council as a natural extension of my desire to continue serving my community. As the wife of a 19-year veteran police Sergeant, public safety is critical to me. I worked with the Police Department to found Buellton's first Neighborhood Watch in 2008. As the mother of 2 young children, quality education is vital to me. I volunteer in the classroom, with the PTSA, and serve on the School Site Council for Oak Valley School. As a realtor and homeowner, I am concerned about the increasing presence of high-density housing projects unsuitable for families and seniors. I am eager to champion sustainable business development and a pedestrian marketplace along Avenue of Flags, and seek stronger architectural standards that give Buellton a distinct, cohesive visual identity. I support Measures E, A, and am committed to maintaining Buellton's small-town character. THANK YOU FOR VOTING! |
