Morgan Hill is a special place that my family and I have for many years called our home. It's much more than just our family residence, I feel like the whole town is my home. I am as comfortable in our local stores and barber shops as I am in my own kitchen. I know the people, they are my friends and I consider them as a part of my greater family that I call Morgan Hill.

I have served this community for the last four years and wish to continue to provide excellence in leadership. My commitment to this community is to be open, accessible and responsive to the public's needs, and to serve with unquestionable honesty and integrity in the best tradition of Morgan Hill.

I will continue to support growth, but it will be slow growth, along a predefined path in accordance with our general plan that will neither threaten our prosperity or our quality of life. I will continue to support and preserve our open place and work closely with our agricultural community to sustain agriculture within our sphere of influence. I will continue to support public safety but look to alternatives to a contract for fire protection services to increase our protection while decreasing our costs.

Global warming is as much as a local issue as it is a worldwide issue. Therefore we must bring about new changes so that we build green, live and promote green in our community. We must plant a million trees to build a green canopy to protect our homes. We must plant drought tolerant native California plants as the preferred landscaping to preserve our water supply. We must reduce traffic, and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We must invest in alternative energy and provide incentives for others to do the same.

We must work collaboratively with local agencies and adjoining cities. We must consider joint ventures and from library to street services, from public works to public safety. In a world of ever declining resources we must reach out to each other, not asking what you can do for me but what we can do together to solve our problems and meet our challenges.
