Let's grow as though we do indeed have common sense.Unfortunately, I am witnessing Ramona's beautiful natural resources, historical resources, prime agriculture lands, and wonderful rural character disappearing at an alarming rate. The growth rate surpasses, by far, the growth rate of our struggling infrastructure. Our local Water District says there is no more land available to expand their needed spray fields and can not support the projected growth that would result in the General Plan in works for the next 20 years. Typical traffic lines for commuters accessing Ramona today is 3 to 10 miles long, yet there are no plans to relieve that. Evacuation for wildfires leaves people parked on roads for hours while trying to leave here. It would be an injustice to my community if I were to remain complacent. I have the ability to keep our community's best interest above other interests, look at information in an analytical fashion, consider cumulative impacts, and make informed decisions. I stay focused on the planning and land use issue and do not allow decisions to be based on personalities. I can make a positive difference, but not without your vote. As an incumbent, I can tell you that I constantly ask myself why I want to be an elected official. Each time, I conclude that I feel sorry for our negatively impacted community, driven by personality driven decisions. As a result, I choose to offer voters my values and expertise in Ramona's planning and land use issues. Would I love to do something else? You bet! But remember, if I don't do it, somebody else will. Please take a good look at what accompanies the person you are voting for. We will all be impacted by it. |
