You deserve to know who I am, what I've accomplished and what you can expect of me when I'm electedHello, Interested Voter My name is Rick Ciardella and I'm running for the Menlo Park City Council. I'd like to have your vote. But first you deserve to know who I am, what I've accomplished and what you can expect of me when I'm elected. Please visit my web site http://www.voteforrick.org to get all the details. I'd also encourage you contact me through the web site and let me know what you think are the priorities facing our city. My roots are deep here. I'm a third generation Menlo Parker. My grandfather owned Ciardella's Market, which was at Oak Grove and El Camino Real until 1959. My father and his three brothers all owned businesses in Menlo Park. Long-time residents will remember Jim's Meat Market that used to be on Chestnut Street. Jim was my uncle. I now have my own landscape architecture business that I run from my house here in Menlo Park. I went to Menlo Park schools and so did my daughter. (See my web site for a complete list of my educational and professional credentials.) I began volunteer service to the city of Menlo Park when I was an undergraduate. Since then I've continued to make significant volunteer contributions of professional services to the community. The projects I've been involved in are all listed on my web site http://www.voteforrick.org. You and your families probably see one or more of my projects every day. I understand the importance of how public projects must be in harmony with the environment, that's my profession. I also understand economics, and how it is important for a community to continually revitalize itself and keep up with the broader changes going on around it. Between now and election day (November 4th) I'll be meeting with as many citizens of our city as possible. I'll keep a calendar of events on my web site. I hope you will be able to attend one of the discussion groups. I'd also ask you to pass this message along to your friends and neighbors here in Menlo Park. The ballot this fall is a busy one. A visit to my web site will provide information to help you in your selection for the Menlo Park city council. The following pages are excerpts from our correspondence to interested voters. Thank you, Rick Ciardella |
