Shall the Board of Education of the Festus R-VI School District of Jefferson County, Missouri, be authorized to increase the operating tax levy ceiling of the District to $3.51 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation for the tax year 2009 through and including tax year 2028, with the operating tax levy ceiling of the District being reduced to $3.08 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation for the tax year 2029 and thereafter, for the purpose of providing funds to construct, furnish and equip a new high school; to renovate, improve and equip existing buildings and facilities; to acquire and improve technology and technology infrastructure; and to pay general operating expenses?
If this proposition is approved, the adjusted operating tax levy of the District is (1) estimated to increase by $0.76 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation in the tax year 2009, from the current operating levy of $2.75 to $3.51 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation, and (2) estimated to be reduced by $0.43 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation in the tax year 2029 and thereafter.
