I am a hometown girl, born and raised in Cincinnati. I am proud to carry on a judicial family tradition as I am now a third generation judge. My great uncle Al Luebbers served as a judge in Hamilton County for 37 years. My father Joseph Luebbers was a judge in Hamilton County's Municipal Court for 30 years. I am thrilled to follow in my family's footsteps by being appointed judge on the Hamilton County Common Pleas Court by Governor Ted Strickland.
I graduated from Ursuline Academy in Blue Ash and went on to obtain a degree in Public Administration from Miami University. While working full-time as a law clerk/constable for Judge Robert Gorman and Judge Richard Niehaus I attended night classes at Chase College of Law. After law school, I worked for eight years as an assistant prosecuting attorney in the Juvenile, Municipal and Common Pleas Courts of Hamilton County. I have tried hundreds of cases from speeding tickets and thefts to domestic violence, rape and capital murder.
After extensive experience prosecuting cases, I spent six years working in the law firm of Fox & Fox, L.P.A. where I broadened my expertise to include civil litigation and criminal defense work. I handled a full range of workers' compensation cases, personal injury cases, social security claims, unemployment hearings and criminal defense
work.
In 2005, I returned to the Hamilton COunty Prosecutor's Office to work for Joe Deters as his Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of Municipal Court. I supervised 10 assistants and helped them fine-tune their skills as trial attorneys.
Even with a busy career, I find time for my community, my family and my friends. Happily married for 15 years, my husband and I are the proud parents of two children. I have served as a Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout co-leader and as an active member of several All Saints Parish committees where my husband and I and our children have been members for nine years. I also am an active member of the Cincinnati Bar Association and for several years I served as a representative on the Hamilton County Police Chiefs Association. I have formerly been involved with Women Helping Women.
