Why I am running.Top 3 Priorities · Business Development & Job Creation · Crime · School Funding Increasing the State's Business Development in the House District 33 is my top priority. Encouraging businesses to relocate into the district or to expand their business here in the House District 33 will help to create and provide better jobs. Using TIFs, State and Federal grants, tax credits, and expansion of the brown field redevelopment projects all while reducing the overly complicated bureaucracy currently required by law will enable redevelopment in the district. Thus providing the House District 33's citizens with more and better paying job opportunities. Violent Crime has been a major issue in the House District 33 for years and is growing worse. This past Sunday's Enquirer shows that crime is growing in the district at an alarming rate. The City of Cincinnati is overwhelmed and the other cities and townships are trying to cope with increases in crime while facing shrinking budgets. There needs to be solutions, not just more jails and more jail time. It is time to get the root of the problem. The State needs to provide assistance to the County and the various local cities and townships to address this issue. We cannot allow the House District 33 to become another Detroit with no employment and high crime. Our method of school funding was ruled unconstitutional years ago. The House Representatives have ignored the issue for far to long. Fair and adequate funding of all Ohio Schools is urgently needed, now. Be it a State property tax, increased sales taxes, changes to the State's income tax or a combination of these and other sources of revenue. The State Legislature cannot continue to ignore the issue. |
