Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Croton-Harmon Union Free School District

As a parent of 3 young children, who will be attending the Croton schools for the next 13 years, I have a vital interest in this District. I was raised in an educationally rigorous home. I came to understand that a strong education is of utmost importance. I want to contribute to my community. I would welcome being part of the decision-making process to help ensure that all Croton children are educated to their fullest potential, so they can become independent, well-rounded adults, who are prepared for their future.

I am qualified to be a school board trustee because of my experience on the CET Building Planning Council and by co-chairing the monthly PTA coffees. Both of these experiences have allowed me to work closely with the administration and faculty to discuss policies within the elementary school. At these coffees, as well as by attending many school board meetings, I have listened to and heard the concerns of our community, which include: differentiation in instruction, honors classes, science, math, technology, arts, communication, class sizes, academic support, and athletics.

Finally, as an appellate attorney, I am required to evaluate all aspects of a problem before making any difficult decision. This professional experience has given me the skills to assess the many issues that face the Board, and to work toward achieving a consensus with my fellow trustees on those issues.
