In the district I live in, our polling place in inside the local playground. I have seen needles beneath the play area and that frightens me. We need to protect those areas so that children and parents will consider it a safe place for their kids to play in.

I have always thought of 69th Street as a place where you could shop, go to a show and get something to eat in safety. But not anymore. I will not go there even in broad daylight. I am afraid. And at night rarely do the stores stay open late. They all close when it gets dark. And the station needs updating and renovation. The overhead walkway needs to be updated and enclosed. What good is a walkway that you still have to use an umbrella?

I hope to make a difference in "politics as usual" in Upper Darby Township.
