How I believe we should move forward.In these trying economic times every dollar spent by the School District must be evaluated against the rewards it reaps. The School District should be viewed as being in the business of producing superior educational results and we should continually evaluate performance against this standard. The unnecessarily lengthy study of issues and problems needs to be curtailed because we fail to provide meaningful experiences to our students in the process. Businesses which operate this way fail. While a School District can't practically go out of business our failure to run it with basic business principles and accountability causes us to perform for our students at levels which are below what we can really achieve. |
