Currently, each of the City of Vernon's five Councilmembers serves a four-year term, and Vernon holds municipal elections in April of every even-numbered year. Three council terms will end in April 2010, and two will end in April 2012.

Measure A would give each Councimember a five-year term, and stagger the expiration of terms so that one council seat would come up for a vote each year as follows:

2010 -- Robert J. Maisano
2011 -- Michael J. McCormick
2012 -- Leonis C. Malburg
2013 -- William Davis
2014 -- Hilario Gonzales
