Governing Board Member; Glendora Unified School District

Despite the challenges that California schools have faced with the state-mandated budget cuts, Glendora Unified remains fiscally sound due to the responsible spending and pro-active budgeting by the Board of Education. The continued inclusion of inter-district transfers has supplemented our budget, while ensuring that out-of-district students maintain high standards of conduct and academic achievement through mandatory contracts. We have been transparent in our struggles, while encouraging input from all members of the Glendora community, and responsibly exploring all options that will help to maintain our financial health.

I believe that the school district needs to continue to increase the number of students attending colleges and universities, maintain the fiscal health of our budget, through careful planning and transparent budgeting. We are lucky to live in a supportive community that values education and refuses to lower its standards for its schools.
