I am seeking a position as a Governing Board Member in order to be of service and a voice for students, parents, staff and the community.I have lived in the city of Lynwood for 35 years. Thirty-six years of experience as a public school educator has allowed me to acquire extensive knowledge and insight into the proper workings of effective school districts. My experiece encompasses, but is not limited to, curriculum develpment, assessment, evaluation, budgeting, program quality review, grant writing, management of special programs and providing support to beginning teachers. I am a strong advocate and supporter of children and public education. I believe in an educational vision that ensures and enforces equity as it relates to providing the best instructional practices and best quality of instruction for all students. I believe that learning needs must be the center of every educational program and resource decision. Learning environments must be safe and conditions must enable students to develop and realize their fullest potential. Today's students must be educated in such a way as to enable them to function and particpate intelligently in the political, social and economic progress of our country.
My top priorities if elected are: 2. To communicate clear, appropriate and factual information to parents, staff and the community concerning district business. 3. To adhere to and enforce board policies and procedures and to hold staff accountable. |
