San Anselmo's FutureBy Ted W. FreemanCandidate for Council Member; Town of San Anselmo | |

San Anselmo is doing well, despite the current financial crisis, and has a bright future in front of us.San Anselmo is doing well, despite the current financial crisis. The leadership on the current Town council has clearly been an important part of that. Each of us has come up with important ideas that require discussion and investigation. We have had overflow crowds at times when discussing issues of great importance and interest. The staff and council work hard to keep townspeople in the know and "connected". All meeting agendas are published. We respond to requests and complaints. The Town Manager puts out a weekly newsletter that is sent to hundreds of subscribers by email, and is published in the Ross Valley Reporter. Much information about the Town is available on the Town website. The volunteer program is doing well. The Friends of the Library have made huge contributions of money and time. Volunteers show up for creek cleanups and other projects when called upon. There are numerous commissions and committees on which a large number of volunteers serve. San Anselmo has a bright future in front of us, but one that comes with many challenges. I urge you to be involved in that future and personally would welcome any ideas or concerns you have. freemanforcouncil@ix.netcom.com I am running for re-election because I too want to contribute to San Anselmo's future while always listening closely to my constituents and weighing their concerns carefully. My background over many years has prepared me to serve the Town in this capacity. I attended town council meetings regularly for four years before seeking election to the council. I also have served on the San Anselmo Quality of Life Commission, Planning Commission, and Library Advisory Board. I have followed politics in California and nationally most all of my life. And as a teacher of Government, Economics and of U.S. History I have thoroughly studied the entire span of American politics and history. I believe my experience and knowledge have served the town well, including as Mayor in 2008, and with your help, will continue to do so. |
