My main objective in my second term is to continue the success San Anselmo has had in recent years. Specific goals towards this end include:
- Keep San Anselmo financially sound while expanding and restoring services
- Mitigate the effects of any future flooding on residences and businesses
- Maintain the small-town charm and livability of our neighborhoods for future generations
- Continue moving the town in green directions to do our part to fight climate change
- Help businesses and the town recover from the current recession
- Preserve the quality of our Police, Fire, and Park and Recreation services
- Find additional funding to increase Library and Town office hours
- Continue to listen to the voices of constituents and be responsive to those voices
- Improve the infrastructure of the Town
- Bring more low-income housing to the Town through some new building and an increase in the number of second units
- Work with other towns and jurisdictions to solve common problems, as we have been doing with Ross to solve traffic problems on Bolinas Avenue
- Explore measures to better conserve water, working in concert with the Marin Municipal Water District
I also would continue to give my full support to our Town staff that does such a wonderful job of running San Anselmo on a day to day basis, even though understaffed. They have successfully applied for numerous grants that have supplemented our revenues, and helped to keep us in the sound financial position that we find ourselves today.
