1991 + 2001: Katonah Elementary School, Parent Teacher Organization. Served on various committees. Served on the Executive Board for two years as Newsletter Editor, one year as Fundraising Coordinator, one year as Co-president. Developed and ran an after-school program serving 300 children. 2003-2006: Harvey School Parents Association. 2004- 2005: Harvey School Fundraising Committee. Received training and solicited substantial donations to build a new arts center. 2003 + 2006 Katonah Village Improvement Society, Vice-President. Developed an on-line newsletter, provided decision support. 2006 + 2008: Y? Clothing Boutique, Katonah. Manager, Accessories Buyer. 2006 - 2009: Katonah Village Improvement Society, President. Organized the successful opposition to the trademarking of the name Katonah which resulted in an out-of +court settlement with a major public corporation. Secured Pro-Bono Legal Representation and a reduced fee from a major public relations firm. Received media training and acted as spokesperson for the organization on television, radio, and in print. Created an environmental committee to educate the community on ways to prevent contamination of groundwater. Initiated and oversaw the production of a professionally illustrated map and self-guided historical walking tour of Katonah in order to attract visitors to the town's nationally registered historic district. 1999 + Present: Genetic Disease Foundation, Board Member. Fundraising. 2007 + Present :Small Business Owner, JRL Accessories, a buying company. January 2009: Present: Katonah Museum of Art, Board of Overseers Personal: I have lived in Bedford since 1986. My husband, Roy, owns an industrial marketing and distribution business operating from Mount Kisco. We have four children; Stuart, age 24; Edward, age 20; Celia, age 17; and Paige, age 15. |
