I was born and raised here in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from McAuley High School in 1995, and have since worked and lived in Cincinnati. I am a single mother of three and definitely know what it takes to overcome adversity and not give up. I completed and received an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree and MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management from American Intercontinental University, and have most recently started pursuing a Doctorate in Education at Capella University this past July. I am currently employed at Southwestern College (Vine Street Campus) as the Department Chair for the Business Management Program where I was honored as the recipient of the "2008 Instructor of the Year" award. I was recently honored as the recipient of the "Unsung Hero Award" for the month of August 2009 for my commitment to community service and my students. My platform focuses on several issues including: Public Safety, Youth Development and Economic Development and Transportation. I strongly believe that embracing the culture and diversity, striving for a safer place to live, job security, quality education and sufficient public transportation within Cincinnati are key components to moving Cincinnati forward. I also believe that if we work together as a community and set our differences aside, we can enhance the image of our city and ultimately attract and retain investors, businesses, citizens and tourists. We must and can do better! I enjoy helping others and making a difference in the lives of my students, as well as being actively involved within the community. Being a single mother has inspired me to persevere in life, and I thank my children for being my motivation for many of the accomplishments I have achieved thus far in my life. |
