The Village has opportunities to expand and enhance its communication to the Citizens, and vice versa.
I believe the Citizen is the "Boss". And we owe it to them to 1)open up as many lines of communication as possible as well as 2)conduct all business in public. We should reach people via ways they already communicate like Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter, and Nixle), improved email, text messaging, blogs, an improved website, etc. We must continue to support more traditional methods of communication as well. On the flip side, we need additional avenues to `hear' the Citizen. Online surveys are a great example. Finally, all meetings should be set well in advance, be welcoming to all, be recorded and available right aftwards, and of course be public. We owe it to the "Boss".
