This information is provided by the candidate |
Why is the Allegheny County Bar Association's "Highly Recommended" Rating of Candidates so Important? The Allegheny County Bar Association is my professional organization to which I belong. It is made up of approximately 6,500 lawyers. It elects a Judiciary Committee of 28 of its members to review and evaluate ALL the candidates who are running for judge for the Court of Common Pleas in Allegheny County. At the conclusion of this in-depth process, the Judiciary Committee rates each candidate for his/her aptitude, competency, ability, qualifications and experience as a lawyer to be a judge. I have been given the highest rating ("Highly Recommended") by the Allegheny County Bar Association. By giving me this "Highly Recommended" rating, The Allegheny County Bar Association has concluded that I: (i) exhibit preeminence in the law by way of outstanding legal ability and a wide range of experience, either in a specialized field of law or a more varied practice, and have a reputation in the legal community as standing at the top of his profession; (ii) possess the highest reputation for integrity and temperament; (iii) exhibit outstanding citizenship by way of community and professional contributions; (iv) am an exceptional individual who will enhance the competency, dignity and public perception of the bench. I have practiced as a trial lawyer for the past 21 years in the area of civil litigation and have been a partner at my law firm for 13 years. During this time I have tried over 30 cases to verdict in front of juries and judges in Allegheny and its surrounding counties, West Virginia and Ohio. I believe that experienced trial lawyers are most equipped to excell as judges on the Court of Common Pleas which is the trial court level of our legal system. I invite you to visit the Allegheny County Bar Association's web site at http://www.acba.org to review the ratings given to all the judicial candidates. |
