Health Care ReformBy Tim R. MartzCandidate for US Representative; District 2; Republican Party | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Make improvements to the best health care system in the world. Keep the system in the private sector. We have the finest heath care system in the world. To improve the system and keep down costs two changes to the system should be implemented immediately. The first is to streamline the approval process for life saving drugs. Ten years or more for approval is totally unacceptable. The second is to increase competition among insurance companies. Our current system allows two insurers to control over fifty percent of the market in most states. Any reform must guarantee that all medical decisions are made by doctors and their patients and their families, and that the system will remain in the private sector. Insurance companies should never be able to dictate treatment, or drop coverage after one of their participants gets sick. |
