Full Biography for Nicole Channing

I have more than a decade of experience in the investment business. I have analyzed thousands of pages of financial statements and complex legal documents while working for both large and small institutions. In 2004, I co-founded a private investment firm, where in the subsequent three years I successfully managed a portfolio of U.S. equities and special situation securities, delivering strong returns with no leverage and low volatility. I am a phi beta kappa graduate of Harvard College and a graduate of Yale Law School, where I served as Executive Editor of The Yale Law Journal. After law school, I clerked for the Honorable Stephen F. Williams at the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. I have long had an interest in education. I wrote my senior thesis in college on the history of curriculum reform at Harvard College, sat on Harvard's Committee on Undergraduate Education as a student representative, and served as editor-in-chief of Harvard's CUE Course Evaluation Guide. Growing up, I spent summers with my grandmother, who for more than 30 years was a teacher and then director a nursery school for underprivileged children. Among my aunts, uncles, and cousins are principals, school administrators, teachers, and coaches. My husband and I have lived in the Croton-Harmon School District for ten years. I have served on the CET foreign language committee, and he has taught in the after-school program and has also coached Math Olympiad at CET. We have three young children, ages 11, 8, and 2. |
