A Mayor for Assembly - we must invest in education to remain a globally competive state and nation. _________ We cannot compete globally with an uneducated work force. That is why we must do all we can to make sure our children are equipped with the proper educational tools of math, science, and the arts so that they may properly and fairly compete with India, China and other parts of the world. We are Californians and our state is filled with entrepreneurs and innovators and we must empower them. We can start within our universities, colleges, technical and vocational schools as well as within labor apprentice programs. We must harness our people's unique expertise. I will work with corporations who are willing to reinvest back into our community's children education. This long range outlook will translate into the fulfillment of 100s of good high paying corporate jobs here in California that are currently going unoccupied because there is not the talent to fill them according to corporate and industry consultants. We must halt this void and invest in our children knowing that when they complete their studies we will have a well trained work force willing and able to fill current jobs right here in California. There will no longer be a need to outsource our children's future and their families' livelihood to other nations.
