Professional Experience

2005-Present Clinician - Victor Community Support Services

  • School-Based Services (current position)

o Assessment, treatment planning, diagnosis and implementation of services. Applying a professional knowledge of social work/psychological principles, theories, and methods specific to various family and individual needs. Carrying a large caseload. o Complete all paperwork and progress notes required for Medi-Cal services. o Provide individual and Family therapy services, using Cognitive Behavior Strategies and other measureable techniques. o Contacting Child Protective Services and working directly with them in cases of child abuse. o Assessing for suicidality and lethality, developing a safety plan and implementing plan with child and family when appropriate

  • Far Northern Regional Center

o Provided services for developmentally disabled children and their families. o Supervision and training of Family Support Counselors. o Developed and implemented treatment planning, setting goals and assisted family and client in reaching their goals. o Provided presentations on a monthly basis that taught families about Behavioral Interventions and strategies, as well as the services that VCSS provides; i.e.,  Positive reinforcement schedules  Strength based services and focus

2004-2005 Clinician - New Directions to Hope

  • Provided services for Far Northern Regional Center, Medi-Cal, Victim Witness, and families covered under several grants.
  • Worked with children, families, couples, individuals, and groups.
  • Gained experience with a variety of clientele including, but not limited to, sex offenders, victims of sexual and physical abuse, suicidal ideation, high risk, individuals with schizophrenia, Duel-Diagnosis, etc.
  • Responsibilities included assessment, diagnosing, treatment planning, note keeping, billing, etc.

2004-2006 Clinician - Aegis Medical Systems, Inc.

  • Counseled substance abuse and opiate addicted patients at a methadone clinic. Applied and gained a professional knowledge of social work/psychological principles, theories, and methods to specific drug and alcohol abuse situations and problems of individuals who present for services.
  • Managed a caseload of approximately 65 patients of a high-risk population.
  • Interviewing, intakes and assessment, engaged in implementation and rehabilitation of substance abuse program via Aegis Director.
  • Evaluated and determined patient barriers to society, including, but not limited to, drug addiction, mental/physical disabilities, mental/physical/emotional abuse, poverty, homelessness, and neglect.
  • Worked with clinic treatment team to develop client solutions to complex barriers to recovery and/or re-enter into society.
  • Conducted and analyzed results of the ASI Addiction Scale.
  • Spearheaded individualized action plans to assist clients successful completion of program
  • Created, in conjunction with clients; treatment plans to help overcome barriers to society; Assisted in discharge planning for patients so that they could terminate services and remain successful.
  • Provided education and information on social agencies/services available to further aid in patient recovery and/or eliminations of barriers to employment and re-entry into society.
  • Educated/informed patients of important aspects of life such as hygiene, behavior modification, budgeting, meal planning, parenting, self-esteem, etc.

2001-2002 Director of State Facilities with CAVE

  • Organized the State Facilities program, overseeing 12 employees and over 100+ volunteers. 1998-2004 ARC of Butte County
  • Instructor level I and II, Supervisor of Saturday Program
  • Provided work and oversaw consumers at ARC
  • Provided job training skills at Day Program
  • Worked with children and families at Saturday Program, and oversaw employees working the Saturday program
  • Worked in various programs, providing respite services, socialization services and vocational training services.

1997-1999 Teachers Aid for Elementary schools

  • Teachers aid and substitute teacher for both developmentally disabled children and typical developing children
  • Ran classrooms and taught coursework

1997-1998 Behavioral Analyst

  • Worked as behavioral therapist with Autistic Children
  • Provided services under Lovaas inspired behavioral interventions.

  • Bachelors Degree with Honors in Psychology 2001
  • Passed C-BEST test
  • 2001 + 2004: California State University, Chico. Obtained Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.

EXTRACARICULAR
  • President of PACS (Psychological Association of Chico State). Also served as the Vice President and Social/Activities Director. Responsibilities included all preparations and planning for all of the social events of the organization (planning and preparation of the raffle)
  • Volunteer work with CAVE (Community Action Volunteer Education) at Sonoma County Hospital
  • Peer Advisor for Psychology and California State University, Chico
  • Filled in as a Substitute teacher for University Courses under Dr. Oppy and Dr. Winzenz at CSU Chico.
