It's time for a change on the Contra Costa Community District Board and I feel I have the knowledge, experience and passion to help turn our colleges around. We're headed in the wrong direction. The cost of college is going up while the quality is going down.

It's time for a change on the Contra Costa Community District Board and I feel I have the knowledge, experience and passion to help turn our colleges around.

We're headed in the wrong direction. The cost of college is going up while the quality is going down. There have even been proposals to offer fewer classes, especially in math and science, to save money. That's unacceptable.

As a former engineer, math and science teacher and mother of three, I believe I have the perspective and energy needed to bring about change.

I earned an undergraduate degree in business and used that education to thrive in the world of engineering. This background will be a great asset when tackling the District's budget.

I also majored in Chemistry, which enabled me to work as a math and science teacher, where I experienced how our schools operate and learned where changes were needed.

Finally, I've helped my three children go through the process of attending college and struggling to pay for it. I'll use this experience to fight for financial relief so more families have access to our colleges.

Inspire. Advocate. Educate. Those three goals will always be at the heart of my work as a member of the Contra Costa Community College District. Because I believe a good education is everyone's right and must be an open door of opportunity.
