Political Philosophy for Chris Steele

|
My name is Chris Steele and I am asking for your support to join the Discovery Bay Community Services District (CSD) Board. I am running to provide leadership on issues key to our town's success. We must always maintain fiscal discipline, never engaging in deficit spending. Further, our reserves should be increased, thereby protecting us from future shortfalls. Both water and sewer rates must be kept affordable for all residents. Additionally, as a responsible agency, we must plan for future expansions while ensuring that drinking water quality is protected and sewage treatment is handled appropriately. Professional maintenance of our landscaping will help enhance our community while protecting property values. As we expand the quantity and quality of our parks, care must be taken to keep them in top shape. While all the above requires funding, we have the resources to get the job done. Proper prioritization of our dollars along with a real effort to bring the whole community together is exactly what I hope to bring to the CSD. Professionally, I have been a local businessman for many years. In 2009, it was my pleasure to serve as CEO/President of the Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce. Active in numerous community associations, I have always tried to empower others while carefully listening to the concerns and innovative ideas of everyone. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Automated Manufacturing Engineering, my work has included involvement with firms such as Cisco, Sony, Solectron and Apple. A Discovery Bay resident since 1995, I met my wife Amy here and both our children attend Discovery Bay Elementary School. We are fully committed to this community. Should I have the honor to serve, you have my word that I'll undertake my role with hard work, enthusiasm and integrity. Thank you for your consideration. |
