WE DESERVE BETTER POLICE SERVICES TO KEEP OUR FAMILIES SAFE, WE DESERVE A ROBUST BUSINESS CLIMATE, WE DESERVE A RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT AND WE NEED CITYHOOD.Law Enforcement Public Safety is fundamental to our community's success. No business or family will invest in an area with a crime, drug, or prostitution problems. As crime moves in, we will see our businesses and families move out. The County of Sacramento has eliminated its narcotics and vice squads, and have reduced our patrol officers to dangerous levels that invite crime into our communities. It should not be this way. We have the resources to have three times as many patrol officers as we currently do. This is unacceptable and why I support cityhood. Blight Communities that are being neglected and ignored turn blighted. Overgrown weeds, like at the former, Black Angus on Watt, a building with the roof torn off, like at the former IHOP building on El Camino, or a building with broken windows, like the former dealership on Fulton, each gives an impression of community that does not care. Businesses and families will not invest in our community if let them decline. The County has a $181 million deficit that will only be covered by cuts to vital municipal services. Public Safety, Code Enforcement, Local Planning Control, and Economic/Business Development Programs will be reduced or eliminated. This is unacceptable and why I support cityhood. Investment In Your Community Targeting crime and cleaning-up our neighborhoods will set the foundation for investment by businesses and families, but we will need to do more. We will need to partner with the business community to eliminate redtape and find incentives to help them invest here. We will also need to invest in our residential neighborhoods, adding trees and greenscape to our community making your neighborhoods attractive and desireable. The County simply does not have the resources to do any investment in our community. This is unacceptable and we need to invest in our community. |
