Ron Roberts 78,541 votes 56.9% Occupation: San Diego County Supervisor Earned an undergraduate degree from San Diego State University and a master's degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Worked 20 years in architecture, spending several years as Managing Partner of a San Diego-based firm. Former chairman of the San Diego Planning Commission & served two terms on the San Diego City Council. Elected to the County Board of Supervisors in 1995, where his leadership has helped turn around a government on the verge of bankruptcy. CA Air Resources Board, Air Pollution Control District Board, Metropolitan Transit Board, SANDAG and San Diego Workforce Partnership. Ron and his wife, Helene, a former school teacher, have three grown daughters and two grandchildren. Stephen Whitburn 59,609 votes 43.1% Occupation: Community Health Educator, American Red Cross Elected president of the San Diego Democratic Club for three terms, contributing to our current Democratic registration majority in San Diego. Elected vice chair of the North Park Planning Committee, serving as public safety and neighborhood services liaison. Appointed to the City of San Diego Medical Marijuana Task Force, ensuring both patient access and neighborhood review.
