Continuity is at a critical point in the expansion of facilities throughout the Hospital District. Relationships that have been established must continue through the completion of all facilities. In this time of national financial crisis, it is most important that the Board members continue to maintain a high level of fiscal responsibility in the PPH Hospital District. I support the efforts of the CEO and CFO to keep the cost of PMC West on budget and on the current timeline. I have been involved in efforts to nurture cooperative relationships with neighborhood clinics to relieve overuse of the hospital Emergency Rooms. It is imperative that the prudent expansion of facilities continues in Poway, Penisquitos and Ramona to meet the growing demand for services in those areas. Over the next five to ten years, there will be changes throughout the district that will make quality healthcare more accessible for the residents. The biggest transition will be the downtown Escondido location that will be re-designed and expanded upon completion of PMC West. I look forward to being directly involved in this transition for the benefit of the businesses in the downtown corridor as well as for the residents of this entire community. |
