Candidate for
Board Member; Bennett Valley Union School District

I am running for reelection to the Bennett Valley Union School District Board of Trustees want to help make our excellent district even better.

During my tenure as a Trustee, the district's teachers, parents, administration and board have worked collaboratively to achieve many significant accomplishments. We adopted new math and reading programs, making our curriculum consistent with state standards. We built classrooms, replacing ones which were in need of updating. We have maintained a maximum 20 students per class in kindergarten through third grade. We have developed differentiated teaching to provide students of all abilities with focused lessons. Our state test scores consistently rank in the top ten in Sonoma County.

My two children attended Bennett Valley schools where, in addition to being a trustee, I was a classroom volunteer and served on the board of the Education Foundation. I have served on the boards of the Santa Rosa American Little League, the Community Child Care Council (4Cs) and the Parent Education Consortium.

I would be honored to serve another term, to apply my experience towards improving our schools and the lives of our children. I ask for your vote on November 2.
